Welcome to Thackston School Branch, one of Tennessee's oldest private schools. We have been serving the parents and children of Knoxville and East Tennessee for over seventy-five years.
TSB is a year-round, full day service for children aged fifteen months to six years old. Our school opens for early care at 6:30 a.m. and concludes with after school care until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our educational program begins at 8:30 a.m. each day. Students enrolled in kindergarten or first grade are required to be here by this time.
Snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon and we prepare a hot lunch Monday through Thursday. The children bring their lunch from home on Fridays.
Our pre-school programs are designed to provide the best environment for physical, cognitive, and social/emotional growth of children. Our pre-school teachers have over sixty years combined experience in working with young children and getting them properly prepared for elementary education. In addition to their extensive experience in the classroom, our staff also attends numerous in-service training workshops throughout the year so that they can keep up with current trends and developments in child care.
Our kindergarten and first grade program offers math, language arts, Weekly Readers, computers, writing centers, foreign language, and field trips. Our small student to teacher ratios make individual attention and pacing more accessible.
Our after-school program reinforces the material covered earlier in the day and introduces new activities as well. We also offer optional programs throughout the year that include karate, gymnastics, jazz and ballet dance, and piano lessons.
Once your child is enrolled at TSB we encourage you to stop by and visit your child and observe our program at any time. By working together as a team, we hope to offer your child everything he or she needs to help them grow into happy, healthy individuals.
